Terms of Service
Effective October 18, 2026 By using lightinthestorm.co or meeting with Chaplain Mark O'Reilly, you agree to these terms. They are written plainly so you know what to expect. What this ministry offers • Pastoral care, not clinical therapy. Light in the Storm offers Christian chaplaincy, biblical counseling, and spiritual support. It is not licensed mental-health treatment, medical care, or legal advice. If you need a licensed professional, I'm glad to help you find one through the Referrals page. • Not an emergency service. I may not be able to answer right away. If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself, call 911 or call or text 988. • Your choices are yours. I offer support and Scripture-based guidance, but decisions about your health, relationships, and life remain your own. • Adults. Sessions for anyone under 18 are arranged with a parent or guardian. Sessions and scheduling Sessions last about 60 minutes and take place in person in the Sparta, Michigan area, by phone, or online. • Booking. Requests made through the website, phone, or email are confirmed by Chaplain Mark. A request is not a confirmed appointment until you hear back. • Changes. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let me know as early as you can so the time can go to someone else. • Online sessions. A private meeting link is sent before we meet. Please join from a quiet, private place where you won't be overheard. • Recording. Sessions are not recorded, and I ask that you do not record them either without asking first. • Safety. I may end or reschedule a session if anyone's safety is at risk, or if someone is under the influence in a way that makes the conversation unsafe or unhelpful. Free-will offerings Sessions are offered on a free-will offering basis. No one is turned away for being unable to give. Any offering is a voluntary gift, not a fee for service, and is not refundable. Whether an offering is tax-deductible depends on the ministry's tax status and your own situation, so please check with a tax professional before claiming it. Website content and stories The articles, blog posts, and other content on this site are shared for encouragement and general information. They are not personal advice for your situation. • Stories and testimonials are shared only with the person's permission, with names and identifying details removed. If you shared a story and would like it taken down, contact me and I will remove it. • Ownership. The writing and design of this site belong to Light in the Storm. You're welcome to share links or short quotes with credit, but please ask before copying larger portions. • Outside links. Links to referrals or other websites are offered as a courtesy. I'm not responsible for the content or services of those sites. Limits, changes, and contact • Limits of responsibility. Light in the Storm offers care in good faith but cannot promise particular outcomes. To the extent the law allows, the ministry is not liable for decisions you make or results that follow from using this site or its services. • Privacy. How your information is handled is explained in the Privacy Policy. • Michigan law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan. • Changes. If these terms change, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
