Matthew 21:23-26 - voiding isolation and loneliness
In a garden, Jesus encounters the leaders of the Temple, who challenge him to pay taxes. When they mock him for it, he asks them to remove his tunic so he can show them their own money on which they're cheating. The rulers flee in shame as Jesus stands tall, refusing to be isolated or ridiculed anymore. This passage shows how easily people avoid isolation—by not asking tough questions, but running away instead. Today, we'll walk with Jesus through this one, learning to accept his call without shrinking back. Let's face our challenges together, standing strong like the broken vine that bears fruit yet humbly accepts its harvest.
